Overview

Our research agenda is anchored in evidence-based public and community health, with a growing focus on digital transformation in healthcare. We are driven by the need to bridge the gap between evidence and practice, working closely with communities, policymakers, and practitioners to ensure our research is relevant, impactful, and inclusive.

We support an interdisciplinary approach that blends traditional health research with emerging digital innovations—generating solutions that respond to the evolving needs of the health sector in Africa and beyond.

Harnessing routinely collected data for timely healthcare decisions in LMICs amidst pandemics.

The ongoing emergence and resurgence of global pandemics pose serious challenges, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where health systems often lack the capacity to promptly detect and track their potential impacts. Digital epidemiology — which leverages routinely collected health data — holds significant promise in generating timely evidence to guide healthcare decisions and reduce the negative effects of pandemics. This project seeks to enhance the resilience of health systems in LMICs through digital transformation, aiming to improve their preparedness and ability to respond effectively to current and future pandemics.
